portlandia hits the nail on the head. over and over and over. this clip is scary, (says the girl with two laptops, an iphone and a gps watch spread across the counter).

bribes + running.

by

i’ve been less than motivated to exercise lately. in general, it’s hard for me to get in a routine, to get in the habit of just going. so i set a goal this week. am i bribing myself? let’s call it a reward. will it work? we’ll see. here are a few things i’m running toward, in the hopes of ending up a better version of myself. (warning: the following is slightly ridiculous.)

1. i’ve been obsessed with this alarm clock for weeks. how could you not wake up and feel totally awesome? (lego)   2. no, i’m not kidding. i REALLY want these running capris in this pattern. they remind me of a ski suit i had in the third grade. this is going to be my prize for meeting my running goal this week. (running funky)   3. i’m almost ready to step up and get a gps + heartrate. this gadget is much more sleek than the computer i currently wear on my arm. (garmin)   4. this print says, “sometimes i surprise myself by being pretty damn fantastic.” it would look lovely hanging above the spot where my running shoes sit. (therese sennerholt)   5. i would feel guilty wearing a t-shirt that says “alive & well” if i didn’t really feel so myself. and it has mountains. radical. (alive & well)
